Enlarged Erie Canal Lock No. 4 -- Colonie, N.Y.

Enlarged Erie Canal Lock No. 4 is located in the Town of Colonie, northeast of Colonie proper and southwest of Cohoes, just west of the Route 7, Interstate 787 intersection. The lock was built about 1842, and is a double-chamber, single-length lock, with a lift to the west of 11.2 feet.
